How do I log my period?
On the home screen, tap to log the day your period started. MothersTouch uses that date — together with your cycle length — to work out where you are in your cycle and to show your next predicted dates. You can edit or correct your most recent period anytime from Settings.
How does MothersTouch know my cycle length?
It defaults to 28 days and then learns automatically from the periods you log over time. You can also set a cycle length manually in Settings if you already know yours.
How do the daily check-ins work?
If you turn them on, MothersTouch sends one gentle daily notification (for example, "Day 14. You are in full bloom.") at a time you choose. These are scheduled locally on your iPhone — there are no push servers and no account involved.
To turn them on or off, or change the time: MothersTouch → Settings → Send me a check-in. You can also disable them from iOS Settings → MothersTouch → Notifications.
I'm not receiving check-in notifications
Three things to check:
- Notifications are enabled in MothersTouch → Settings.
- Notifications are allowed for MothersTouch in iOS Settings → MothersTouch → Notifications.
- Focus / Do Not Disturb isn't silencing them at the scheduled time.
If they still don't appear, email us and we'll help.
What is the "rest day" calendar feature?
It's optional. When you turn it on, MothersTouch adds gentle all-day events to your iPhone's Calendar app so the rest of your week respects your cycle — labeled 🩸 Period, 🌷 Fertile, 🌸 Ovulation, 🌙 Period predicted, and 🍃 Wind down. Events are written only to a dedicated calendar named "MothersTouch."
How do I turn the calendar feature off?
Toggle it off in Settings — this removes the events MothersTouch created. You can also revoke calendar access entirely in iOS Settings → MothersTouch → Calendars. Uninstalling the app removes the whole MothersTouch calendar.
Does MothersTouch sync across devices or back up to the cloud?
No. In version 1.0 everything is stored only on the iPhone you use. There is no account and no cloud backup, so your data does not move to a new device automatically. This is by design — your cycle data never leaves your phone.
Does it connect to Apple Health?
Not in version 1.0. MothersTouch does not read from or write to Apple Health. If that ever changes, it will be opt-in and described clearly in the Privacy Policy first.
Is my data private?
Yes. MothersTouch has no account system, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party SDKs in version 1.0. Your cycle data is stored only on your device. See the full Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my data?
You hold the only copy. To clear everything inside the app: Settings → Reset everything. Or delete MothersTouch from your home screen — uninstalling erases all of its data from your phone. Because we don't store anything on a server, there's nothing for us to delete on our end.
Is MothersTouch a medical or contraceptive tool?
No. MothersTouch is a wellness and cycle-awareness companion. It does not provide medical advice and should not be used as a contraceptive method or a substitute for professional medical care. For health concerns, please talk to a qualified healthcare provider.
