Grabbit — Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 25, 2026
Grabbit (“the extension,” “we,” “us”) is a Chrome extension published by Sun Ventures. In short: Grabbit does all its work inside your browser. Nothing leaves your device, and we collect nothing.
What Grabbit does — locally
When you click a button, Grabbit captures an image of the current tab (a video frame or a full-page screenshot), lets you crop it, and saves it to your downloads. It can also change the playback speed of a video on the page. All of this happens locally in your browser. Your screenshots, the pages you visit, and any video content are never sent to us or to any third party — the extension makes no network requests to any server we operate (we don't run one).
What we collect
Nothing. Grabbit has no accounts, no email collection, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. The one preference you can set (“crop before saving”) is stored locally in your browser's storage and never transmitted.
Permissions
Grabbit uses the activeTab and scripting permissions only when you click a button, so it can capture the current tab or adjust the video playing on it. It uses storage to remember your “crop before saving” preference and to briefly hold a captured image while handing it to the crop view. None of these permissions are ever used to transmit your data anywhere.
Children's privacy
Grabbit is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the date above reflects the latest version.
